The ML3 light metro line connects Colonia Jardín, a neighborhood in the La Latina district of Madrid, with Puerta de Boadilla, in the municipality of Boadilla del Monte, in the west of the city. This line is part of Madrid’s public transport system and provides a fast and efficient link between these two areas. This project is part of an ambitious plan to provid Madrid with a light rail network connecting the center with the main towns on the outskirts of the city. The train line is integrated into the existing station on Line 10 of the Madrid Metro. The main features of the line are: The track used on this line was Rl-60N grooved rails, on a ballastless track system in accordance with the CDM prefarail patent. An elastomeric blanket was used on sensitive sections to reduce vibrations. The track has different finishes, such as, stamped concrete, prefabricated paving stones and agglomerated concrete, depending on the development of each a rea. Two crossings were installed to facilitate the operation of the line in the event of incidents or to create partial routes.
