The Madrid-Levante High-Speed Line is the main axis on which the high-speed connections between the southeast of the peninsula and the central plateau are structured. Azvi has played a major role in the construction of five sections. This stretch is unique and most challenging on a technical level. This is due to the complex mountainous landscape and the natural and environmental determining factors of the area where it is located. The execution has needed a € 151.5 M investment. The stretch is 6.5 km in length. Of those, 1.6 km run over three viaducts, and 3.9 km through three tunnels. The stretch Torrejón de Velasco. RHSR Line Madrid-Sevilla to HSR Line Madrid-Levante connection branches aims for easing the connection between both High Speed Railway Lines by means of two single track railway branches, one for each way. The project, which required a €70.4 M investment, included all neccessary work to define track formation up to ballast subbase level, the restoration of easements and affected services, the environmental integration of the infrastructure and supplementary work. The stretch is 8.6 km long and has a 14 m wide track bed. The investment has been €86 M. Points to highlight on this work are the construction of a 1,200 m long viaduct over the Tajo river, a 1,265 m two-way track switching post to allow trains circulation change, and the “Dehesa Nueva del Rey” cut-and-cover tunnel with 1,000 m in length. The stretch is 5.6 km in length and has an investment of €46.3 M. In the work layout are included the construction of two viaducts (one 236 m long over the CV-875 road and over Boch gully with 200 m in length), and 8 underpasses. It is also projected the neccesary level crossing (track formation extension for the set of tracks and platforms) for the railway station facilities in Elche. Track assembly construction project from the top of the sub-ballast layer, until the final reception of the work. The outlined layout is 49.1 km in length and a €13.6 M budget. A PAET (train siding and parking post) in Valdemoro, with two separate tracks and four more shunting necks, and a PB (two-way track switching post) in Seseña are being also carried out. It has been is constructed as a support to the High Speed Railway to Levante rail assembly works, with a budget of €10.2 M. The Assembly base uses a 13.2 hectare area. The functional elements are the following: storage areas for ballast and sleepers and for pre-assembly turnout slabs, storage and rail transfer area, a locomotive warehouse, a slab-axle switcher and a fuel tank.
