The Morelia Road Bypass project involves the construction of a new 63.1 km, two-lane A2-class road running from km 0+500.00 on the Mexico–Guadalajara motorway to km 58+136.83 on the Pátzcuaro–Uruapan motorway. The project includes three structures, the most notable of which is the El Nispo Viaduct. Measuring 316.94 m in length, the viaduct has a maximum pier height of 52.18 m. The structure consists of 42 post-tensioned girders and its construction will require 145,656 kg of prestressing steel, 1,666,208 kg of structural steel and 9,798 m³ of concrete. The El Nispo Viaduct is a strategic infrastructure component of the Morelia Bypass, designed to improve connectivity, ease traffic flow and reduce journey times. Its construction contributes to the economic and logistics development of Michoacán through an engineering solution that overcomes significant topographical challenges and strengthens the region’s road infrastructure.
