R+D+i Management System

Grupo Azvi is committed to R&D&I as a key strategic element for its position within the market by developing an R&D&I Management System, in accordance with the requirements of the UNE-166.002 Standard.

In this way the Research, Development and Innovation processes are systematized, thus facilitating the recognition and incorporation of emerging technologies applied to the building and civil works sector. Its scope is as follows:

  • Techniques, systems and construction processes of building and civil construction.
  • Sustainability in building and civil construction.
  • Information and communication technologies.
  • Occupational Risks Prevention.
  • Techniques about conservation, maintenance and operation of infrastructures.

Furthermore it certifies all R&D& i projects according to UNE 166001: 2006 “Requirements for an R+D+ i”. Thus the processes of Research, Development and Innovation are systematized, facilitating the recognition and incorporation of emerging technologies applied to the building and civil construction sector.

“DF-MAS”: DIGITAL FLEET MAINTENANCE SERVICES

Type of project: Industrial Research

Initiative financed by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism within the programme of support to the AEI to contribute to the improvement of the competitiveness of Spanish industry, and with the support of the European Union through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.

Reference: AEI-010500-2022b-127

Objective: Research, design, development and use of digital twin models of maintenance services, with a particular focus on the case of railway machinery maintenance in the railway infrastructure construction and maintenance sector.  The project addresses the challenge of developing methodologies and models for the digital transformation of contexts with a low level of digitalisation. Azvi will apply the results of the project in the maintenance services of the railway machinery fleet.

CYBERSEC

CYBERSEC: Research in Emerging technologies to achieve Cyber Secure and Resilient Infrastructures

Project co-financed by CDTI, and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the ‘Programa Operativo Plurirregional de España 2014-2020’.

Objective: research in various technologies, techniques, tools, methodologies and knowledge aimed at developing technological solutions to address cyber-attacks in highly critical connected environments, such as Industry 4.0, Smart Cities or critical infrastructures.

Region: Andalusia.

Implementation period: 07/2020 – 06/2024.

Project budget: 599,956 €.

CYBERSECMINFECLIMA: Smart maintenance of railway infrastructures based on the integral treatment of data with new climatic contexts

Project financed by CDTI with aid from Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.

Objectives: The general objective of the project is to develop a new, more advanced maintenance methodology that integrates data collection (regarding both the track status as well as the most significant climatic and meteorological variables) and data analysis (by means of artificial intelligence tools) to improve decision making when it comes to plan and carry out maintenance tasks. This will, in turn, improve on the reliability of the maintenance process, ensure infrastructure availability and contribute to a more efficient allocation of resources.

HYBRIDCONCOM: Application of hybrid concrete and composite materials for civil works and urban architecture applications

Project financed by CDTI with aid from Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, and co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the 2014-2020 Multi-regional Operational Program of Spain.

Objectives: The general objective of the international project is to develop new hybrid structural systems based on the union of concrete and composite materials to provide innovative technological solutions in spaces with an aggressive environment. The objective os AZVI is to develop a new hybrid structural solution for tunnel support and complement this solution with the coding of essential information to be used in BIM systems.

SIC4: Smart lane closures system for road maintenance

An incentive has been received from the Agency for Innovation and Development of Andalusia IDEA, of the Andalusian Government, for an amount of 146,433.08 euros, 80% co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund, ERDF to carry out this project with the aim of promoting technological development, innovation and quality research. It has also been encouraged by the Technological Corporation of Andalusia.

Objectives: The general objective of the project is to develop a prototype of a smart system to help improve the safety of workers who carry out maintenance operations on roads and highways.

SIRMA Strengthening Infrastructure Risk Management in the Atlantic Area

Most of the transportation of people and goods in Atlantic Area is made through rail and road. The performance of this infrastructure is directly affected by extreme natural events and by the strong corrosion processes that result from proximity to the Atlantic Ocean.

SIRMA project aims to develop a robust framework for the management and mitigation of such risks, by implementing immediate, medium and long-term measures, thus increasing the resilience of transportation infrastructure.

The consortium, of which Azvi is a member, brings together universities from Spain, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Ireland and France, as well as two state infrastructure managers (Irish Rails and Infraestruturas de Portugal).

This project is co-financed by the INTERREG Atlantic Area Programme through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) with application code: EAPA_826/2018.

 

CDTI 2 FULL LOGO SIMPLIFIEDREDUVE: Reinforcement of structures against dynamic actions through ductile cementical compounds with resistant vegetable meshes

Project subsidized by the CDTI through the INNOGLOBAL 2018 call and supported by the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness.

Objectives: The general objective of the international project is to develop the necessary knowledge to implement a reinforcement system made up of vegetable fiber textile meshes and cementitious matrix that solves certain problems in the infrastructures caused by climate change. The solution will be characterized by a high energy dissipation capacity under dynamic effects and at a lower cost (economic and environmental) than traditional solutions with synthetic fibers.

Objective: Increase productivity and competitiveness in the construction of new rail lines, developing a totally new system that allows the technical monitoring and certification of infrastructure works and railway superstructure from its digitalization and automation.

automated machine for the execution of the leveling and alignment process in the assembly of ballastless. Through the integral automation of this constructive process, Azvi will achieve an increase in productivity, labor and environmental safety, and structural quality assurance in this works.

AZVI_INFRA_ADAPTINFRA_ADAPT: BIM technologies for the predictive management of road infrastructures vulnerable to the effects of climate change

Project financed by the CDTI, with aid co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the ‘Operational Program for Intelligent Growth 2014-2020’.

Objective: to solve the problems and needs detected in the road infrastructure sector within the framework of climate change adaptation through the concept of Resilience, leading to the development of “BIM Technologies for predictive management of road infrastructures vulnerable to the effects of climate change”, including the following:

  • Solutions for BIM digitalization of infrastructure.
  • Massive capture of geometric data for existing infrastructures using Mobile Mapping techniques.
  • Algorithms for identifying vulnerable areas.
  • Early warning systems for incidents based on the monitoring of vulnerable areas.
  • Action protocols and strategies for management of the operation, redesign and implementation of corrective measures.

Objective: To develope a product which is be able to manage dynamically and efficiently the collection of municipal solid waste with minimal investment and maintenance by Public Administration.

Azvi_Miplascoe_2019MIPLASCOE: Development of new biopolyesters from food indrustry for applications in railway sector and packaging.

Project financed by the CDTI, with aid co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the ‘Operational Program for Intelligent Growth 2014-2020’

Objective: MIPLASCOE seeks to manufacture elements for the railway and packaging industry, from biopolymers produced by polymerization of monomers obtained by fermentation from waste from the orange juice industry. The general objective of AZVI in the project is the development of new material that can be introduced into the railway superstructure for rail lining and which in turn is based on the recycling of waste material.

OPTIRAIL: optimizing the conservation of urban rail transport infrastructure

Project financed by CDTI and supported by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness with funds co-financed by FEDER 2014-2020 Smart Growth Programme and CDTI own funds.

Objective: development of an intelligent asset management for the conservation and maintenance of metro and tram infrastructure, integrating monitoring techniques by vehicle mounted devices. The management of all the data collected by an expert system, including predictive modelling and BPM technologies, will optimize maintenance activities, reducing costs and increasing safety and user comfort, all in accordance with international standard ISO 55000.

Project subsidized by the CDTI with own funds through the INNOGLOBAL 2017 call and supported by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness.

Objectives: The general objective of the international project is to develop the necessary knowledge to execute a new technology of concrete tanks reinforced with composite materials like Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP). The objective of AZVI is the development of a solution based on FRP sheet that performs the function of collaborative formwork with a concrete core, thus defining a novel production methodology.

SEVINCI: Increase of road safety through road inventory and guided itineraries with RFID

Program: INNPACTO 2011 from MINECO (Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad).

Objective: Creating an inventory control system of roads through wireless technology, for which RFID tags are used. Relevant information of maintained item is stored on the label and this is read by passing vehicles, fueling the inventory database of the road.
